San Bernardino Verbano
At the entrance of Val Grande
Lakes and mountains: the alpine peaks flanked by gentle hills with generous panoramic views. This is the landscape that welcomes visitors to San Bernardino Verbano, the small town that takes its name from the stream coming from the Val Grande. It was established in 1928 with the union of three administrative territories: Bieno, Santino and Rovegro. In these hamlets, the testimonies of the past are still alive, in the fascinating use of the stone of the dry-stone walls that support the mule tracks and the rural artifacts that characterize the mountain pastures and the ancient core.
